Optional extras for Bingle Comprehensive Car Insurance

Windscreen and Window Glass Cover

If you hold Windscreen and Window Glass Cover we will repair or replace damaged windscreen and window glass without you having to pay an excess when the only loss or damage is to your car's windscreen or window glass including sunroof.

For full inclusions and exclusions on optional extras, please refer to the PDS

Keep Mobile

Optional Keep Mobile cover means we'll arrange a hire car when your own is out of action because of an incident covered by your policy. We'll provide a similar make and model to your car (in our opinion) so you can feel right at home.

Plus, you'll get copycat cover! In a nutshell, copycat cover means that while we settle your claim, you'll have the same insurance cover that you normally hold for whatever car you're driving (limited to market value) while your car is unavailable – whether that's a hire car, your partner's car, your friend's car, and so on (provided that the car is being used with the owner's consent). Your listed drivers will be considered listed drivers on that car too.

For full inclusions and exclusions on optional extras, please refer to the PDS

New for Old Replacement

That brand new car feel is great isn't it? With optional New for Old cover if your car is a total loss, we'll replace it with a brand new car of the same make and model (where available). So you can still enjoy a sweet new ride. (Available for cars 3 years old and under.)

For full inclusions and exclusions on optional extras, please refer to the PDS

FAQs

What's the difference between Comprehensive and Third Party Insurance?

Comprehensive Car Insurance covers you for accidental damage or loss of your car as well as damage to someone else's vehicle or property up to $20 million. Third Party Insurance covers you for accidental damage the use of your car causes to other people's property or car. You are not covered for any damage to your own car or for injuries to other people.

What car insurance do I need?

Comprehensive Car Insurance is our highest level of protection as it covers not only your liability for the damage your car causes to other people's property, including their vehicles, but also damage to your car.

If you just want to cover damage to someone else's car or property, then Third Party Property cover may be for you. It's cheaper than comprehensive, but doesn't cover your car. In other words, you may decide it's not worth paying a higher premium for Comprehensive Car Insurance as, over time, it could outweigh the cost of replacing your car if it was damaged in an accident.

Also, although Third Party Property insurance does not cover damage to your car, it does cover your liability for damage your car causes to other people's property, saving you having to pay their potentially expensive repair bills.

How much can I insure my car for?

Your car is covered for its market value. Your car includes keys, accessories, or modifications that are permanently fitted to your car. Market value means the amount that the market would pay for the car. This takes into consideration many factors such as your car's make, model, age, condition and kilometres travelled. We may use recognised industry publications to assist in determining its market value. Market value excludes costs of rego, compulsory Third Party insurance and any stamp duty and transfer fees, dealer warranty costs and dealer delivery. Depending on the age of your car, our New for Old option might be available to you on this policy.

Does Bingle cover rideshare drivers?

Yes, Bingle covers rideshare driving, through apps like Uber (but not UberEats and not if you have other people driving your car as a rideshare), Shebah, Ola, and others. You just need to have the usage type correctly listed on your policy. You can do this when you get a quote or update an existing policy by logging in to self-service. Bingle does not offer cover for food and courier delivery driving (e.g. UberEats), chauffeured cars, cars you hire out, taxis, cars rented from a fleet owned by companies and cars driven under a third party transport service (eg corporate cars, airport transport service).
