Optional extras for Comprehensive Car Insurance in Victoria

Looking for a higher level of car insurance? Well, no matter what state you are in, if you take up Comprehensive Car Insurance with us you will be able to choose from a variety of optional extras. Our three optional extras include Windscreen and Glass cover , Keep Mobile cover (which provides you with a hire car1 if you're not able to drive your car due to an accident or incident), and New for Old cover (for cars 3 years of age and under).

Of course, you'll need to have the option on your policy before any incident takes place, you can't add it after an event and have it cover you for that same event. For more information on optional extras, read the PDS.

What will my excess be in Victoria?

Need to lodge a claim with us? The standard excess ranges from $650 to $2200 depending what you selected when you bought or renewed your policy, if you hold a Comprehensive car insurance policy with us. If you hold a Third Party property policy, the excess varies based on your state. Your excess can be found in your Insurance Schedule.

It's good to keep in mind that additional excesses may apply. This depends on who was driving your car. There's an extra excess if the person driving the car was under 25 at the time of the incident. There's also an unlisted driver excess for household members and regular drivers not listed on your policy.

Keep in mind, in the event you lodge a claim and we determine that you're not at fault, you will have your excess refunded to you 2.

Choose your excess option is available for new Comprehensive Car policies from 5 June 2020 and renewing Comprehensive Car policies with an effective date of 2 July 2020.
